Microwave detection provides a greater detection range than passive Infra red detection and detects all movement, making it suitable for open plan offices, corridors and classroom applications. With directional adjustment and sensitivity, microwave detectors can easily be tailored to suit most enviroments with detection ranges of up to 30m.

The MWS3 range is available in both standard on/off and dimmable versions for use with digital DSI/DALI ballasts. With the unique adjustable sensor head, different detection patterns can be achieved by changing the angle of the head. The inbuilt photocell allows for adjustable lux levels, enabling the detector to hold off the lights if there is sufficient natural daylight. The dimmable version provides either a DSI or DALI dimming output in additional to a switched relay output. The dimming channel can be used to control the light output of luminaires that are fitted with dimmable ballasts. The detector measures the overall light level and calculates the correct output for the luminaires to achieve a preset lux level.
